Joe Tanous CEO

Mr. Tanous has been a venture capital investor and entrepreneur for over 30 years. He has executive management experience at several startups including AutoDesk, Mentor Graphics, OrCAD. Most recently, he served with Oregon State University’s Technology Commercialization which spun out 30 companies during his 6 year tenure. In the case of Adherial, Mr. Tanous spun it out and joined it in a full time capacity.

Debi Coleman CFO

Managing Partner of SmartForest Ventures and the Founder & General Partner of Rainy Day Productions in Portland, Oregon. Previously, Ms. Coleman was Chairman and CEO of Merix (1994 – 2001) and VP of Materials/Operations at Tektronix. From 1981 to 1992, she held the positions of VP Operations, CFO, and VP Information Systems & Technology at Apple Computer. Ms. Coleman holds a BA from Brown University, an MBA from Stanford, and was named a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute in 1997.

Will McKinney COO

Mr. McKinney has over 30 years of senior management and startup experience. Previously President of Health and Wellness for The Regence Group, now known as Cambia Direct Health Solutions, VP of Engineering at ABC Tech, (SAS). Will has a deep background in healthcare as well as developing and delivering products.

Carlos Jensen VP Engineering

Dr. Jensen is an associate Professor in Computer Science at Oregon State University with a PhD. in Computer Science from The Georgia Institute of Technology. He specializes in software engineering and usability, with a focus on engineering systems for usable privacy and security. He has managed large-scale development efforts for the European Broadcasting Union’s Olympics IT team.

Jim Souers VP Sales

His career has included General Management at Mitchell Lewis & Staver, VP of Sales at Ambric, Director of Sales at MEMC, and a wide range of sales and corporate leadership roles for Advanced Micro Device. Jim received a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering from Oregon State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Tom Minot VP Business Development

BSEE University of California at Davis. Mr. Minot has 30+ years of start-up engineering, sales and marketing management experience with companies such as Juniper Networks, Micro Magic, Sun, Daisy and National Semiconductor. He was the Director of Market and Business Development for the $2.5B/year Technical Markets at Sun Microsystems until 1997. He has worked with several start-up stage teams to their maturity as large companies.
